#WILD STORIES of ADVENTURE # ... Post Crash Mortem, Dinan Part 3

The 5 Amigos ... John with the purple rucksack,  then me - peace bro, Jason Dixon in black and then Jessie in red.  Darren is taking this picture.  We are entering Pere Lachaise Cemetery where people like Jim Morrison,  Oscar Wilde and many many other famous people are buried in Paris.

It took a good few weeks to get back into drinking condition!  The crash had knocked me for six.  I was back to normal mentally,  but I had one and a half teeth missing and a big scare on my face.  It disturbed me a bit.  Still though,  life goes on and I had to live with the changes.

Summer in Dinan was still pumpin' and the parties carried on.

Work had started on gutting the warehouse.  It was cool work.  Every Monday to Friday we'd wake up well before the sun was up.  Around an hour later a van driven by one of the guys we worked with would be waiting for us downstairs.  In the back we all piled and off to the outskirts of Renne we went.

The van would soon be filled with smoke,  farts from last nights cook up,  belches and burps and all mixed in with some bad breath!!  For us in the back it wouldn't be long before we were abusing the passenger in the front to wind down his window.  :))

A few Kilometers into our commute to Renne was a stop at a bakery.  This was our breakfast stop every morning.   It was just a small bakery but the freshly baked goods were out of this world!!  Because we arrived there so early everything was as fresh as fresh could be.  I always bought a few Pan Du Raisin.  ( In all the years that have passed I still haven't tasted as good as those ).  The van would be quite for the next ten minutes as everyone scoffed their breakfast.  Then the farting would begin again!!   :))   That's one of the memories I have from being stuck in the back of the van all the time ... the crazy smells!  Crikey!!

The work went well.  Axel,  the dude from Sweden and I were assigned to clear the ceiling section.  We were clambering in and around the roof supports like the most agile of monkeys.  Scraping and hacking off the old paint work readying it for a new coat.  In between monkeying around we helped the other guys destroy walls or help with a cement job.  It was hot action.  The new supermarket would be opening in a month or so.

With so many guys working together making the supermarket it wasn't long before there was a tense situation,  we then had the " bad vibes week ".   Darren was put in charge of the cooking for all the guys slaving away.  We all slaved,  but when Darren got to take an extra couple of hours off to go and buy the goods for lunch and we were served with rabbit food for the first couple of days this didn't go down too well.   At first we didn't mind but when this continued and we all started losing weight,  complained about being so hungry and collapsing on the floor starving ( just joking there mate ),  things got a little heated for a while and complaints went out to sack the chef or at least get the chef to cook some food that had sustenance.  The cooking got better and then all was back to normal again.

With the opening of the new supermarket and the end of the European summer coming to an end,  being unemployed again was going to be fun.  Time to look around some more places and see where we end up.

A gang of us that lived in the apartment had become a good bunch of mates.  We decided to head up to Amsterdam via Paris.

Armed with pockets full of cash that we had saved during our working spree we splurged a bit and caught the TGV train to Paris.  On arriving in Paris we hit the streets.  We made our way to the Eiffel Tower and that afternoon set up our camp among the trees,  we were almost underneath it.  It was so cool camping under the Eiffel Tower.

Our next stop was Amsterdam.  On the train again and a few hours later we all clambered into a cafe in Amsterdam for afternoon tea!!  ;))  We were there all day!!  So many different types of menus in that coffee shop,  it was crazy!!  ;))

That night we slept on a boat Pier that juts out from the water on one of the many canals that criss cross the beautiful city of Amsterdam.  Unfortunately I don't have a photo of us hobos camping out that night.  Would have looked kind of funny I think,  seeing a bunch of people sleeping just above the water line.

If you have never been to Amsterdam then I highly recommend you put it on your list.  The city is full of character,  beauty,  art,  architecture,  water ways,  flowers and of course very beautiful blond Dutch ladies!!  ;))

The next day was spent looking at this cool city and we found a camp site which was more appropriate for our needs.  We needed a shower for sure!!

We all booked tickets on the bus to get us to London.  The buses are so convenient because they roll onto the ferry and then roll off at the other side,  then it's easy cruising all the way to London.

We hung around in Taunton Somerset for a while and caught up with Axel in our local pub.  It was wicked!  There were about 10 or 12 of us in the pub that had all partied together in France!!  It was great to catch up with them!!  Then I made my way to Oxford to catch up with some more friends and say my goodbyes to them too.

It was soon time to catch a flight back to Australia.  Summer was nearly over in Europe,  the evenings were getting chilly.

I had to make a phone call to Australia before I left.  '' Fi,  how are ya?  ... yeah I'll be on a flight soon.  Do you know a good dentist in Adelaide? ... good!!  I need one!! ... see you soon.''

How could I go to Fi's 21st birthday party looking like a hobo!?

  1. Hope this helps you like it helped me. Try Oraltech Labs as it worked for me, although I will say it's not just do this and "bam your breath is cured" as they make you change your entire mouth cleaning habits. So you end up doing it all their way. But in the end it becomes a daily routine. It covers Post Nasal Drip and Tonsil Stones as well thankfully. When you have bad breath it messes up your whole life. And I suppose the best thing is they don't make you go out buying "special" products for the rest of your life. So try Oraltech Labs. Just don't get it and then think you'll do what it says “now and then” because it's either all or nothing, and trust me getting rid of my room clearing faecal breath meant I was all in. Alex’s, J. USA.
