# A Great Recipe # ... stuff for stuffing

'Tis the season for good cooking!!  Roasts galore,  and the blending of flavors.

Here is a little recipe to help develop the aroma of the chicken you cook,  or even use it when you cook up a roast pork.

Of course, recipes are a good guideline so if you want to mess around and add this and that for your extra flavor ... don't be afraid ...try!!  This stuffing recipe is 100% developed by your's truely  :))  hope it's ok!!

#WONKY ENGLISH# ... a dodgy dunny!!

A DUNNY is Australian for toilet.
When the urge to release comes, we walk or run to the dunny  :))

But the other day when I was riding around near Rainbow Bridge I needed to go to the dunny.  I was just about to walk into this dunny when the sign in front caught my eye.

Talk about WONKY!!

That's got to be the dodgiest dunny sign ever!!  Is the camera directly linked to all dodgy dunny users????   My legs started to feel WONKY just thinking about it!!

WONKY ENGLISH ... my mate Skal

It's fun when on a break you go to one of the very convenient drink machines that are dotted on almost every street corner.  Spend ten minutes meeting a work mate and talking about when we will meet for a drink after work.

Then I saw Skal!! ...

... and was instantly jealous!!  Why??  Because Skal's ''meet'' sounds so much more romantic!!

''Skal meets soft blue flavour''

I just ''meet'' my mates!!   buh buh :(

You've goddaluv WONKY English  :))

# OUT & ABOUT in Japan # ... a big bridge!!

Was Out & About recently around the bay of Tokyo when suddenly I found myself right next to this massive bridge.  Turns out it was Rainbow Bridge!!

It's HUGE!!

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... dogs, save your breath!!

Was having a cruise around the southern part of Tokyo, close to the bay area when from a distance I could see these massive towers looming.

They are the new Twin Towers, apartment blocks.  They are HUGE!!

Looking around them I found a sign, which is typical in Japan, for the the actions that you can do and can't do.  Usually it's a sign for the things you can't do!!

Now waste is usually associated with garbage, or as we say is Australia, rubbish :))

But how can waste be connected to a sound??

There is something WONKY going on here!!

Can anyone tell me how to fix this WONKY ENGLISH?? ... now please, don't waste too much time thinking about it  :))

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... wonky construction!!

Now what the heck is going on here!!  Cycling along the river the other day and came across this construction sign.  At first it was the dog that got my attention  :)  What on earth is that dog doing and what is the connection with construction??  Then I spotted the spelling mistake!!  And to top it all off,  what are the characters of running people at the top of the sign for??

Now this is one WONKY construction site for sure!!  I really hope their accident rate is low!!  :))

Stay happy ... stay WONKY  :))

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... thlyday, thaturday and thunday ... oh NO!!

Was cycling through the city the other day, near the Imperial Palace and came across which I consider one of the best WONKY ones I've seen.  Just trying to read it makes you think ... err,  I have I been drinking??  :)  Or maybe these barmy hot days are affecting my speech!!

It's so simple and short that it's going down as a WONKY classic!!   The ERO RICE WONKY ENGLISH is my all time favourite,  this is it's equal!!  :))

Say it a few times,  it brings a smile to your face  :))

# OUT & ABOUT in Australia # ... where snakes, spiders, koalas & kangaroos live.

Australia is a big country!!  Europe fits inside Australia.  Mainland America fits inside Australia.  It's BIG!!  It's VAST!!

Australia is Australia because of the well known typical icons such as koalas, kangaroos and surfing Santas  :))

But there is another side of Australia which is rarely seen or spoken about by tourists.  A side of Australia that is filled with rich colours,  history and hardships.

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... errr, what's going away??

I think we need that WONKY song going here  :))

Poor guy!  You would have to feel a bit WONKY walking around with this T-shirt on for sure!!  :))

Now he must be in love!!

ALL ONE? ... hmmm,  maybe she or he,  is the only one!!

THIS ... ?   hmmm, this,  is not going to work??

GOING AWAY?? ... well,  that end part is a mystery!!  In fact the whole T-shirt is one WONKY way to either show your love for someone or be just plain WONKY!!

Good luck to ya mate,  you'll find the right one soon!!  :))

# OUT & ABOUT # ... in Australia, a Monster fetish!!

From left to right -- breakfast, morning break, lunch and afternoon snack  :))
While the rest of the world has a huge variety of energy drinks stocking the supermarket and local convenience stores, here in Japan until just a couple of years ago .... we had Coca-Cola!!  It was about the only drink available with some kind of caffeine shot inside.

# OUT and ABOUT # ... at Port Douglas in AUSTRALIA

AT LAST!!  A trip back home ... to the land of plenty!!  A Vegemite sandwich was calling me  ;)

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... a close shave

     In French,  Mont means mountain.

For example; ''When I went skiing at Courmayer in Italy,  I could see Mont Blanc ( the white mountain ) everyday''.  And for the sake of trivia it's Monte Bianco in Italian.  The Mountain borders France and Italy.

The other day I went window shopping in Ebisu for a new rucksack and came across this sign which said Mont-Bell is ''close''!!

I took a step back to look around for the mountain but couldn't see it!!  Maybe it was ''close'' but it was dwarfed by all the tall buildings.

I couldn't do my window shopping at this particular shop because it was ''closed''.

Talk about WONKY!!     I was ''close'' to confusion!!

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... that's one messed up bear !!

GLOOMY   The naughty grizzly
He is well trained ...
except he has a hard time remembering not to attack humans.

''Oh!  It's so sweet!''          ''What an adorable bear!''

''He's got the cutest little nose!''         ''I just wanna hug him forever!!''

Now these are the words you would normally hear when talking about or even listening to other people talking about a bear.

BUT!!!  Not this bear!!     This is certainly one WONKY bear!!    Believe it or not this bear is for kids.  Or the odd adult who wants a different kind of bear!!   Some of the Street Beer crew and I went 10 pin bowling the other week in an amusement center here in Tokyo and as I was walking through I saw this ghastly bear!!

I felt so sorry for him!!   He probably used to be a normal cuddly bear just like all his cousins ... but,  someone must have treated him badly!!   I want to rescue all those GLOOMY bears and set them free!!

Now is this one WONKY bear or what!!??

# OUT & ABOUT in Japan # ... the big stick

Out and About in Japan on an extremely hot day like today was going to take some effort!!   I consumed just over 5 litres of fluid on this ride!!  It's the summer season now and the weather is as sticky as a piece of chewing gum stuck to a hot pavement!!  :))

# WILD STORIES of ADVENTURE # ... Sumatra, care for a drive in the country darling!?!

The decision was made.  South East Asia it was.  Something different from Europe.

Fiona and I flew in to Singapore from the city of Adelaide in Australia.  Singapore is always value for money for a ''couple of days only'' kind of place.  Opinion is,  it's like being on a robotic island

'' It's gotta be WONKY

OUT & ABOUT in JAPAN ... ''Yay'' or ''Nay''

Darren is on his way over from Australia and a BBQ in his name is planned well in advance.

There is drama brewing though as the weather at the moment here in Japan is in the rainy season!!

In the mean time,  a week before Dazza's BBQ the Street Beer crew are having a session in Shibuya after work on the Friday night.  Suddenly 2 faces appear next to our group and one of the guys is happy to hear us all speaking English and starts to ask us a few questions.  We find out that these guys are from Norway and have just arrived that day in Tokyo.  They are here for 10 days of exploring and partying.

WONKY ENGLISH ... official embassy communication

If you have been wondering where the South Korean embassy has moved to recently then you are probably as confused as I am.  With WONKY directions like this it's no wonder no one can get their visas processed!!  I"ve been wondering if it's a secret code so that the North Koreans can't find where it has moved to!!  ;))

                ... WADDA-ya-know ... it's very WONKY   ;))

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... it's a bit crunchy!!

Now could this be a joke?  Is this a CG created image I have here for you??  Or could it be the real thing???

I understand that we,  as inquisitive as we are as human beings are willing to try most things that are put in front of us to eat,  but come on!!  A strawberry and SAND sandwich!!

... most definitely Wonky ... and CRUNCHY!!

OUT & ABOUT in JAPAN .....Earthquake 9.0 part 2

Everyone,  all the teachers and staff,  had been called for a meeting.  We were told we couldn't leave the hall until 5:30pm,  which was the time the graduation ceremony was due to finish anyway.  Guess head office wanted to get their full payment of salaries worth.

There wasn't much we could do at all.  All the teachers had chipped in to help clean up the decorations,  the only thing left to do was watch the news reports coming in on the T.V. sets that were scattered around the hall while at the same time avoiding the supervisors.

At this stage panic had hit Japan.  A 9.0 magnitude earthquake had struck!!
Our mission,  to get to Justins pad ... nearly 20 kilometers away!!  Left to right is J.Jey,  Justin,  Steve and bro A.J.

OUT & ABOUT in JAPAN ...... Earthquake 9.0

One of the first things that entered my mind was the song done by the Clash!!  It's called ... ''Should I stay or should I go?''

It was graduation day.  The company I work for holds a ceremony for all the children that will be moving up to kindergarten for their next school year.  They are between the ages of 3 and 4.

What happens to them today will be taught in their history classes when they are older,  some of them may remember today.
Lots of happy faces just a short time before the big shake!!

# OUT & ABOUT in JAPAN # ... whoops, forgot to check the weather report!!

It was sunny and fine when I left for work on my bike that morning.  As usual I made it to work an hour and a half later.

During the day the clouds came in and the temperature dropped drastically.

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... Dangerous Bush!!

There are times when you are in a  park to relax.  For example,  on a hot day during your lunch break or having a picnic with friends or family.  But I like to go to the park for a laugh when I'm feeling a little blue!!  This park near where I work can only be described as the ''Fill Your Day With Laughter Park''!!  It's quite a large park and it takes a while to wonder around and see it all.  So it's no surprise when each time I'm there I leave the park laughing my head off!!

DON'T GO INTO THAT BUSH!!

CRIKEY!!  There must be all kinds of trouble going on in there!!

Don't ya just love the menacing size of the bush!!  ;))

It's not just the English that is WONKY ... it's your legs and sides after so much laughing that become WONKY too  ;))

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... "Excuse me. Do you have any bad language books?"

Now this may look like an innocent book shop to you.  Well it is!!  It's just that the name of the book shop is kind of WONKY ... err,  very WONKY ... !!

Try this.  Say it 5 times to yourself.  But say the first one slowly and gradually build up the speed until you are saying it quite quickly  ;))  Probably you'll end up saying it more than 5 times!!

                         ... get my drift?

                                                               ... WONKY  yeah!!  ;))

# WILD STORIES of ADVENTURE # ... Mountain Rescue

'' Hey,  Chris,  do you want to hitch hike to the Cairngorm Mountains in Scotland to celebrate the New Year this year? ''

Chris lived in Minehead and I lived in Dunster.  They are small sleepy villages a stone throw away from each other in the depths of Somerset,  England.

Each year we set out to travel to different parts of England,  with our thumbs as our guide,  to celebrate a New Year's Eve with the locals.  The previous New Year we were in London ... and had a ball!!

     This year would be Scotland!!

It was 5am when we met each other by the side of the road just outside Dunster.  Dressed in our winter gear ready for the snow and our rucksacks on our backs.  The Cairngorm Mountains are quite rugged.  Chris had packed his tent for this adventure.  This one would be a bit of a challenge.  Somerset is down in the South of England.  The Cairngorm Mountains are right up in Scotland.  From where we lived,  we had about 500 miles to hitch hike,  or maybe more.  That's roughly 900 Kilometers.  We wanted to be there that night so we could set up our camp site and get a few beers in at a local pub before we slept.  ... could we do it ??

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... 100% fresh WHAT!?!???

For all you fruity luvvin' sex addicts!!

Ooh-la-la !!  Could this be the perfect drink to go with the Ero Rice that I found last year!??    Or is this a new energy drink that could do wonders for some bed time antics??     Possibly,  it could be a new way of packaging and inside is a very large vibrator!!??    Maybe,  you just unscrew the top and something POPS out??   ... that would be cok-a-doodle-do for sure  ;))

 Is this WONKY  or what??

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... Made in WHERE???

Everybody has heard of "Made in China",  some really cool luxury goods are "Made in Italy" and when I cook one of my incredibly tasty banana cakes it's "Made in My Kitchen"  ; ))

But ...     "MADE  IN  DREAM"  ???

When I saw this one morning when I was catching my local train to work,  it "MADE ME LAUGH!!"

     Don't ya love WONKY English  ; ))

#WILD STORIES of ADVENTURE # ... Post Crash Mortem, Dinan Part 3

The 5 Amigos ... John with the purple rucksack,  then me - peace bro, Jason Dixon in black and then Jessie in red.  Darren is taking this picture.  We are entering Pere Lachaise Cemetery where people like Jim Morrison,  Oscar Wilde and many many other famous people are buried in Paris.

It took a good few weeks to get back into drinking condition!  The crash had knocked me for six.  I was back to normal mentally,  but I had one and a half teeth missing and a big scare on my face.  It disturbed me a bit.  Still though,  life goes on and I had to live with the changes.

Summer in Dinan was still pumpin' and the parties carried on.

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... definately WONKY

Now if there is ever a case of something being WONKY then here it is!!

A shower in the summer time makes you feel refreshed.  Or especially in the morning it wakes me up.  Pleasant is having a picnic among the flowers in a park or watching a sunset on a beach.

Mmm ... a combination of a bitter taste with a refreshing after taste sounds like a type of mouth wash!!  Might have to try this coffee.  I'll feel refreshed,  with an aftertaste that could set my taste buds sending pleasant sensations through out my body!!
... err,  that kind of sounds WONKY too  ;))

# OUT & ABOUT in TOKYO # ... winter camping!!

It was the second to last day of my Christmas holiday period and I was missing the summer time fun of going to the river to have a good time.  Oh what the hell!!  I thought,  and packed my rucksack to go camping.   But in the mountains in Okutama it gets well below freezing!  Probably it won't have the same feeling as summer   ; )

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... PU--eee!! Something smells!!!

Is this just normal ... or can this be considered as INCREDIBLY WONKY?

I've heard of Pure Water,  and even Purified Waterwhen I travelled to certain countries I was even advised by my friends not to drink Putrefied Water!!   ;)

Has anyone seen the T.V. series,  Survival Game with Bear Grylls?  This guy goes anywhere he can to have a buzz.  Now there's one special show where he's in Australia and stuck out in the desert somewhere with absolutely nothing to drink!  ( well the camera crews had drinks but they weren't sharing ... )   he pulls out his drink container,  takes a whizz in it and then drinks it!!

I'm happy to say that the drink above isn't actually Poo Water.  Poo is the sound of the character in the Japanese Hiragana and Katakana.

This photo is showing a special kind of WONKY  ENGLISH.  Can anybody -- Japanese people should know what has happened here -- fix this one??  ...  please?

                                   Uuuunch!!

                                                        ... ahh!!  That's better.   ;)

# WONKY ENGLISH # ... not finished business??

I was walking through the popular drinking area of Roppongi when I noticed this sign stuck on the door.  It's a rare sign to see these days.  And rarer still is to see chalk used.  That's what made my antenna stick up.  A closer inspection revealed WONKY  ENGLISH!!  A-ha ... where's my camera!?

Come on  ...  don't be shy ... FIX IT!!  What kind of incentive do you need??   :))

# RECIPE # ... for an INCREDIBLY TASTY SPAGHETTI

It's been a while since the last recipe hasn't it,  thank you for waiting  :))

OK,  everyone likes a plate or bowl of good ol' spaghetti don't they.  Well you won't be disappointed with this cook up that's for sure  :))  This is TASTY AT IT'S BEST!!   Simple,  quick and not much to prepare,  this quick 'n' easy dish will set your taste buds free man while at the same time your love handles will be thanking you for the goodness that has been put in your belly  :))

# WILD STORIES of ADVENTURE # "Bargain Travel Myth ... Part 2 -- SPAIN!!

After the Wild Adventure of getting really cheap flights to Athens it was time for the 3 of us to find somewhere to stay.  The "Old City" of Athens is a popular destination for backpackers and travellers alike.  The "Old City" is filled with all kinds of tourists.  Actually the "Old City" is filled with lots of history as well.  It's one of the more preserved areas of Athens and really is nice just to stroll around taking in the many sights like ruins,  restaurants or to do some shopping.  Flower pots and hanging baskets drape the streets as you walk by giving the whole area a look of Greek splendour.  Venture a few blocks from the "Old City" and you would quickly like to hop back to it or do a runner to a gorgeous island somewhere  :))  Unfortunately the rest of the city is just like any other city in the world.

# WILD STORIES of ADVENTURE # ... Switzerland & Apricots

It's hard to imagine apricots to be associated with the beautiful mountainous country of Switzerland isn't it!?

Well ladies and gentlemen,  welcome to another story of Wild Adventures where connections like this happen now and again!!  :))

My friend Fiona and I had just "dun-a-runna" ( run away )  from the campsite we were staying in.  This campsite was just outside the gorgeous town of Courmayeur in the Valle  d'Aosta region of Italy.  We were on our way to Switzerland.  We were getting extremely low on money.  Luckily water is fresh and free in that area.  There are natural springs in abundance,  clear and cold.  Our bottles were filled up all the time.  There were no shops near where we were hitch hiking from and we needed cigarettes badly!!  :))  But we were so low on money that I'm sure we could not afford to buy any.  On our way up the winding road we found an open cellar.  I'm sure they wouldn't notice a couple of bottles missing  :))  Later the champagne went down a treat!!

# WONKY ENGLISH #

It's time for something WONKY!!   It could be me or is it amiss!?  Doesn't it have the same sound!?  Why is my name spelt with the same letter on the sign but has a different sound!?   Is my name WONKY!!

Here you are,  a hint.  In Japan we have Typhoons,  in America they have Tornadoes,  in Australia we have ...??     The answer to that Q has the same pronunciation as the WONKY spelling on that bus sign above  :))

My large apologies to all of you non native speakers ... English sometimes really sucks  huh!!  :))

COME ON ... FIX IT!!   IT'S  WONKY!!

# OUT & ABOUT in Japan # ... Lost Again -- Part 2

This is what we arrived to ... ya-godda-love-it!!  Bikes Galore  :))

We arrived a little early but were soon lost again!  The place was massive!  Cycle Sports Center sprawls in & out & through the valley mountain area.  There are lots of activities for adults and children here.  It took us ages to find out where everyone was.

# OUT & ABOUT in Japan # ... Lost Again -- Part 1

This place is just outside of Atami.  Not sure if that's a real castle or a "love hotel"  :))

Just before we arrive at Atami station
Outdoor Space's end of year mountain biking session went out with a bang this year!!  The venue was set,  the numbers were going and the weather was looking great!!  Cycle Sports Center in the central highlands of Izu was our destination.

John and I were on a mission to have a wickedly wild time as well  :))  We went a day early.  We caught the train down to Atami.  Just before we arrived there John pipes up with the suggestion of beer.  Well,  why not?  It's the holiday season now ... and we were on holiday!
